Pathways, challenges and solutions for achieving Vietnam’s net-zero emissions target
Vietnam committed to achieving Net-Zero emissions by 2050 at COP26, a bold target that requires fundamental transformation across every sector of the economy.
Vietnam is among the top 20 global carbon emitters, with emissions concentrated in energy (60%), agriculture (15%), industrial processes (13%) and waste (3%). The power sector, heavily reliant on coal, accounts for the largest share.
Vietnam’s Net-Zero roadmap includes: renewable energy transition (wind, solar, LNG), energy efficiency improvements, forest protection and carbon sink enhancement, green transportation, circular economy, carbon capture and storage (CCS).
Green Environment supports organizations in their Net-Zero journey: greenhouse gas inventory and verification, emission reduction target setting, carbon credit project development, Net-Zero roadmap consulting, ESG reporting and disclosure.
